Full Description
This is the perfect size hook for both creating and maintaining dreadlocks. It easily slips through the dread so loose hairs can then be grabbed and pulled back into the dreadlock. This hook is the strongest and most durable in our line up thanks to the hook and the handle being formed from the one piece of steel.
To use the Dreading Hook, hold the dread firmly between your fingers and use the other hand to push the Hook through the dread. Now grab a couple of loose hairs and pull them back into the dread. There's no need to pull the Hook the whole way through, try to just pull it into the middle then push it back out again to grab a couple more hairs. This technique is fairly straight forward and easy to get the hang of so you'll be able to clock up some good speed soon enough. Now as you are pushing it back and forth, keep the fingers which are holding the dread nice and firm and ever so slightly twist the dread back and forth - this just keeps the dread nice and even. As you finish one spot, slowly spin the dread around so you end up working through the entire circumference of the dreadlock.
So when's the best time to use this tool? It's always a good idea to perform maintenance after your dreadlocks have been washed with a residue free Dreadlock Shampoo and you've allowed them to completely dry. This can be done on dreads of any age - in fact you can get started using this tool right after you've created dreads. When you've finished back combing and given them a thorough palm roll follow up with the Dreading Hook working your way slowly and carefully along the length of each dread.

The shopping cart will automatically work out your shipping costs based on the weight of your order and advise you before payment is required.
New Zealand orders on average take 7-12 working days.
For all other countries, please allow approximately 10-15 working days.
Customs processing and clearance in your country may impact this timeframe by a few days.
Returns Policy - (Damaged Items / Change of Mind)
We accept returns when they are arranged within 30 days of receiving your order.
To be eligible for a return:
- Items must be in their original condition, unused, and unaltered
- Returns must be approved before being sent back
How to Arrange a Return
Please email contact@dreadlocks.com.au within 30 days of receiving your order to arrange your return. Returns sent without prior approval may not be accepted. Once your return is accepted, please ensure it it is sent back within 7 days of acceptance.
Return Shipping
Return shipping costs for 'Change of Mind' are the responsibility of the customer
If the return is due to an error on our part (e.g. faulty or incorrect item), we will cover the return shipping costs
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, refunds will be processed within 5 business days. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.
Redelivery - (Incorrect Address / Non-Collection / Lost)
In the event we have been given an incorrect mailing address or the package is not collected, we are happy to resend your order to another address if/when it is returned to us. A redelivery fee will apply which will be the actual shipping cost, no admin restocking fees will be charged.
Lost in Transit
Occasionally, delays may occur. If your parcel has not arrived 10 business days after the estimated delivery date, we can escalate the matter with Australia Post for investigation. Depending on the outcome, we will either resend your order or issue a refund.Â
